Jouissant d’un emplacement sur les grands boulevards parisiens depuis plus d’un siècle, ce musée a immortalisé les personnalités marquantes de notre monde et de notre Histoire…
La création du Musée Grévin date de 1882 à l’initiative d’un journaliste, Alfred Meyer. Ce dernier fait appel à Alfred Grévin qui occupe la double fonction de caricaturiste et de dessinateur. A eux deux ils inventent le concept de la 3-D : sous la forme de mannequins de cire, ils montrent leurs contemporains sous une forme statique, certes, mais qui donnent – et cela tout un chacun vous le dira - un sentiment de réalité.
Aujourd’hui le musée compte près de 450 personnages où se côtoient des personnalités qui ont marqué l’Histoire, les Art, la politique… ou encore le sport. Tout ce Gotha évolue dans de somptueux décors alliant marbre d’or et colonnes.
Mais au-delà de la création de ces personnages de cire, tout un travail historique est fourni à travers les différentes mises en scène de fresques historiques.
